This guide is dedicated to articles that have been published in PubMed by SIU affiliated authors. Searches for articles are conducted in PubMed at the beginning of each calendar month and the link to the search results are posted under the corresponding year and month. Due to how articles are indexed and published in PubMed, there could be a delay between when the article was originally published and when it appears in PubMed.
Q. How can I get my article included in this?
A. When your article is submitted to the journal, you need to make sure that you list your affiliation. If there is no affiliation listed, your article will not be found by the monthly search. The following are the best options:
- Southern Illinois University
- Southern Illinois University Springfield
- Southern Illinois University School of Medicine
- Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Springfield
- Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, 801 N. Rutledge St, Springfield, IL 62702, United States
Q. My article was published, but why has it not appeared on any of these lists?
A. It can take several months for an article to be indexed in PubMed. Until it has, it is not available to be found when searching that database.
Q. What date-range is searched to create this list?
A. A search is conducted at the beginning of each month and searches PubMed for any articles published in the last month. Example: a list posted at the beginning of October will cover articles that were published in PubMed from September.
